Footage from the moment of the arrest of Adi Çoba in Durrës, who was handcuffed by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) during an operation conducted yesterday evening, has been released. According to reports, no State Police structures participated in the action.
Adi Çoba's name first became public after the international operation "Ura", which hit a suspected drug trafficking network between Albania and Italy. Until then, he was not known in Albanian justice files.
According to documents from Italian authorities, Çoba is considered one of the main figures in the criminal organization. Italian investigators suspect that he coordinated the group's activities from Albania and organized the supply of large quantities of heroin and cocaine, destined for the Italian market.
The investigative file states that, in his capacity as the leader of the group, he organized the dispatch of couriers who transported narcotics from Albania and the Netherlands to Italy, in collaboration with other members of the organization.
According to Italian investigations, a suspected close collaboration between Adi Çoba and Elvis Doçi, known as "Visi i Pojës", in narcotics trafficking activity has also been documented.
Çoba's arrest follows the developments of Operation "Bridge", while investigations into the international drug trafficking network continue in cooperation between Albanian and Italian authorities./ Report TV
