Pezeshkian: The agreement with the US could change the fate of Iran and the
President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has praised the agreement reached with the United States as an opportunity to open a new phase in relations between the two countries and to positively influence the stability of the region.

In statements broadcast by Iranian media, Pezeshkian said that the memorandum of understanding could serve to resolve long-standing disputes between Tehran and Washington, if the parties commit to its full implementation.

"The agreement can resolve long-standing disputes and create new conditions in Iran and the entire region ," the Iranian president said.

He announced that the details of the agreement will be published "in due time," while revealing that more than 90% of the members of Iran's Supreme National Security Council have supported the document after extensive discussions.

However, in parallel with the optimistic tones of the Iranian presidency, Tehran has also sent warning signals to Washington. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stressed that Iran expects the US to respect all commitments made.

According to him, Iranian authorities are considering diplomatic and military scenarios in case the agreement fails during the 60-day implementation period.

Recalling previous episodes of tensions between the two countries, Baqaei called for caution, while underlining that the Iranian armed forces remain on full alert.

The developments come at a time when there are also significant movements on the maritime security front in the Persian Gulf. US President Donald Trump announced that ships have begun moving again through the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic corridor through which about 20% of global oil supply passes.

According to Trump, the reopening of the sea route is the result of the agreement reached, which foresees the end of the American naval blockade and the restoration of free movement of ships in the area.

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron has called on Iran not to impose transit fees on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

"We will do everything in our power to ensure that there is no payment," Macron told TF1 television.

The French president added that France and Britain could quickly organize a joint mission if the situation requires it, while announcing that the French aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" is ready to move to the region within a few days.
