There is no white smoke in Washington. Iran's response to the US proposal did not please US President Donald Trump.
In a post on the social network "Truth Social", Trump stated that Iran's proposal was completely unacceptable and that he did not like it at all.
" I just read the response from the so-called 'Representatives' of Iran. I don't like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP ," Trump declared.
The Trump administration has been under intense time pressure to reach a deal. Indirect negotiations with Iran, brokered largely by Pakistan, Oman and other countries, have dragged on for weeks, even months. Trump and his officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, had publicly stated that they expected a concrete response from Iran “tonight” or “very soon,” giving Tehran relatively short deadlines for the American proposals. Iran submitted its response after a few days of delay, but it fell short of Washington’s expectations.
With Trump's clear rejection of Iran's response, the diplomatic process enters a high-tension phase where the ball is back in Tehran's court. The US is expected to present a new counter-proposal or increase military pressure, including the possibility of new intensive strikes if Iran does not accept key US conditions such as the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz, severe restrictions on its nuclear program and guarantees of regional non-escalation.
The current ceasefire remains fragile and could last days or weeks, but without rapid progress, full-scale conflict risks erupting again, with consequences for global oil prices and maritime security./ Pamphlet
