Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy has arrived in the US for talks with Donald Trump's officials.
British media reports that Kirill Dmitriev is in Washington for 'official' talks alone, a few days after the US president canceled his meeting with Putin in Hungary.
Kirill is expected to meet with Trump administration officials to continue discussions about US-Russia relations.
Axios reports that he will meet with his American counterpart, Steve Witkoff.
The timing of the reported meeting is timely, as it comes during a week in which Russia has attempted to act defiantly despite being under a series of new sanctions from the US and EU.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his willingness for the Trump-Putin meeting to take place in Turkey.
Putin's rival, Volodymyr Zelensky, is in London today and is holding a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to increase donations for weapons in Ukraine.
