The case of the crime contingent officer, Idriz Haxhiaj, proves that military and police leaders involved in criminal activities are not only not affected by justice, but are appointed to other duties, through deals between those in power and the criminal exponents with whom they have connections.
On March 10, 2025, officer Idriz Haxhiaj, by order of Prime Minister Edi Rama and decision of former Minister Anila Denaj, was appointed Director General of Water and Dam Administration at the Ministry of Agriculture, without having any connection to this sector.
From December 2018 to February 2025, officer Idriz Haxhiaj was the Director of Public Order and Security Policies at the Ministry of Interior, but in parallel within this period, from February 24 to September 30, 2024, he was also the Director of the Seized Assets Agency.
He became part of the Ministry of Interior through old and dirty connections with former Minister Sandër Lleshaj, when they were together in the army, where Idriz Haxhiaj was Director of Intelligence at the Ministry of Defense; Vice-Rector of "Skënderbej" University; Director of Operations and Training at the Army Headquarters.
He left the army after reports from NATO and the Army Secret Service, which had filed charges against Idriz Haxhiaj for violating the integrity and security of the duties he performed, through involvement in illegal activities and connections with criminal figures.
Although he was dismissed, he found "shelter" and a high position in the Ministry of Interior, appointed Director of Public Order and Security Policies by decision of Minister Sandër Lleshaj, while he was later appointed in parallel as Director of the Seized Assets Agency.
But even during his 6 years at the Ministry of Interior, Idriz Haxhiaj's activity was accompanied by periodic reports from Anticrime, SHISH and EUROPOL, for his involvement in relation to crime figures, to whom he provided secret information about the activity of the State Police, which also included information from the FBI, DEA, SPAK, the Prosecution, SHISH and partner agencies of EU countries.
In the service of crime figures, officer Idriz Haxhiaj was exposed during the 8 months of February-October 2024, when he also headed the Seized Assets Agency at the Ministry of Interior.
He was denounced and booked for dealing with criminals of all kinds and businessmen, from whom illegal assets were seized and confiscated, allowing them to use them in exchange for bribes, but also returning them at low prices, through auctions with fictitious buyers.
During his 8 months as director of seized assets, he was considered "the terrible Idrizi" because he extorted illegal fines for seized properties from Shkodra, Kukës and even Saranda, making lists of bribes and contacting them himself, or through those who brought them to him by realtors.
"The Terrible" Idriz Haxhiaj, in addition to corrupt affairs in the army and selling police information to criminals, made numerous deals with seized assets, securing illegal profits, which he laundered with wealth inside and outside Albania.
The American real estate website "traded.co" announces that Idriz Haxhiaj has become the owner of a property worth 2 million 850 thousand USD in New York, specifically 3398 m² warehouse on "Bronxdale Avenue" in Morris Park.
Meanwhile, a year ago, after leaving the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior as a leader with several black files, officer Idriz Haxhiaj was catapulted to the position of General Director of Water and Dam Administration at the Ministry of Agriculture./ Pamphlet
