Wine cellar worth 1 million euros; BKH investigates police chain of command at
Ergys Agassi /

During a search of Ergys Agas's villa, BKH agents discovered a quantity of expensive wines without fiscal stamps, with an estimated value of over 1 million euros. The bottles were sealed and placed under storage, but the next day they were found to be missing after the police guards and customs investigators had left the premises. Two months after the incident, SPAK has launched a separate investigation to identify the officials who ordered the withdrawal of forces from the villa, including leaders of the State Police, Customs and the Police Supervision Agency.

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation were unable to arrest Ergys Agas because he had left Albania before being handcuffed; it is suspected that he was notified by police, BKH, SPAK or Special Court officials who were aware of the arrest warrant.

During the search for Ergys Agas in his villa, BKH agents discovered a cellar with bottles of expensive wines, many years old and without fiscal stamps, which, according to the valuation act, exceeded the total value of 1 million Euros.

In compliance with the anti-smuggling law, the National Bureau of Investigation and SPAK blocked the wine bottles, and in cooperation with the Customs Investigation and the Police, placed them in 24-hour storage until their seizure and transfer to customs facilities.

But the next day when they went to seize them, the wine bottles had been removed from Eno Agasi, because the police and customs leaders gave them free rein, ordering the police guards and customs investigators to leave the villa.

Two months after this scandal, SPAK and BKH have begun an investigation as a separate criminal case, to uncover those police leaders who ordered the removal of the guard from Ergys Agas's wine cellar.

According to information received by "Pamphlet", from sources within the National Bureau of Investigation, the investigative process has begun to verify the actions and inactions of the General Director of the State Police and the chain of the implementing structure, from the leaders of the police station that covers the territory where Ergys Agas's villa is located to the police officers and guards near it.

Likewise, an investigation with the same object has begun for the chain of command and enforcement of customs, to discover those who ordered the removal of customs investigators from guard duty at Ergys Agas's villa, leaving free ground for Eno Agas to remove the seized wines.

It is said that officials of the Police Supervision Agency have also been taken under investigation, as they have not implemented their legal obligation nor cooperated with SPAK to investigate those police officers who ordered the removal of police forces from Agas's villa.

In the context of the investigation, SPAK has received all documents from the villa inspection procedure, the quantity of wines, the footage, their numerical and financial assessment act, the persons responsible for the procedure, the orders and names of the police officers and customs investigators, tasked with guaranteeing the inviolability of the blocked object and the evidence of the crime.

It will not be surprising that the investigation's trail to discover who ordered the removal of the police and customs investigators to allow the removal of the wines from the cellar; will lead SPAK to Prime Minister Edi Rama, the chief of the "coordinator" Ergys Agasi./ Pamphlet
