Simon Zereci failed in the competition for Director of the Guard and the minister blew up the entire process, a serious precedent that exposes the capture of national security and the destruction of meritocracy...
The competition for Director General of the Republic Guard took place. The candidates were tested. The procedure was completed. But the predetermined candidate did not win. And this is where the scandal broke out.
Simon Zereci, the name that had been circulating for months as the Ministry of Interior's sure choice to lead the Guard, failed in the competition. He failed to emerge victorious in a process that, for the first time, truly functioned as a competition. The government's reaction was not to accept the result, but to annihilate the process.
The Minister of the Interior, instead of respecting the conclusion of the competition, ruined everything. In a formal email, she announced that “the procedure has not been finalized with the announcement of a winning candidacy,” while claiming at the same time that the process had respected legality, transparency, impartiality, and meritocracy.
In fact, the real translation of this message is simple and brutal: our candidate did not win, therefore the contest is not valid.
This is a serious and dangerous precedent, because it is not a secondary position, but the leadership of the Guard of the Republic, the institution that protects the constitutional order, the life of the heads of state and national security. In a normal state, there are only two alternatives. Either the competition is manipulated and canceled for violations, or the competition is fair and the winner is declared who has left the competition. Here a third variant occurred, typical of clientelistic regimes: the competition was fair, but the result was unacceptable to the government.
The fact that the politically favored candidate did not win, but instead punished all the participants and the institution itself, shows that the contest was never intended as a real competition. It was a formality to legitimize a predetermined name. When this name failed, the government reacted not by correcting itself, but by eliminating the process.
The scandal becomes even more serious if we consider that it concerns Simon Zereci, a publicly contested figure and denounced for serious problems, unacceptable for an institution that should embody integrity, discipline and reliability. However, for the government, these do not matter. The security of the Guard does not matter, meritocracy does not matter, the law does not matter. All that matters is that Simoni wins.
And if Simon doesn't win, the game is over.
This action is a clear message to every officer, every clerk, and every professional in the administration: compete as much as you want, but only the one we appoint wins. And if he doesn't win, we will cancel the process. We will erase the result. We will declare it as if nothing happened.
This is no longer just an administrative scandal. It is a deliberate destruction of the rule of law, in one of the most sensitive security institutions. And the question that remains pending is this: will the competition really be reopened, or will another maneuver be found to get Simon through the window, after he failed through the door?

Nuk eshte rasti i pare. Kjo metode perdoret ne gjithe adminstrsaten shteterore qe kur ne krye te vendit erdhi "rilindja" e famshme. Ka edhe me keq kur lista e konkurenteve me nje arrogance perbindeshi kthehet me koke poshte dhe kerkoje po deshe ne gjitha institucionet qe paguhen me teksat tona...
Eshte shkelje e komisionit ! Pse ? Sepse personi qe nuk ka pas masterin duhej te skualifikohej qe ne fazen e pare te shikimit te dokumentave dhe plotesimit te kushteve !!! Por jetojme ne shqiperi ky eshte per kemp do dhe me u bo Komandant ik o xhaje futi nej domino me spiunat e komunizmit
