Singer Bleona Qerreti has sued Evi Kokalari in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, USA. According to the lawsuit, a copy of which is also available to the VoxNews editorial team, Bleona is demanding a minimum of $2 million from Kokalari, after a dispute between the two that lasted several months.
The lawsuit was filed in court on August 14, 2025, while Bleona claims that Kokalari caused them with malice and clear intent, through a campaign of defamation and completely untrue and damaging statements, made publicly on social networks and elsewhere, including false statements that the plaintiff is a prostitute, call girl, stripper and cabaret artist.

"Kokalari has also made some of these statements in conversations with others over the past year, even though she knows they are lies. Kokalari fabricated them, based on a premeditated scheme to damage her career and advance her personal interests," the lawsuit states.
The lawyers write that Bleona Qerreti and Evi Kokalari met in the fall of 2020. "He promoted her because he wanted a career in politics. The consequences of Kokalari's statements have left a deep mark on the Plaintiff both in the US and in Albania. Bleona has suffered financial damages, reputational damage, and emotional harm as a direct result of Kokalari's campaign to destabilize and tarnish her," the lawsuit continues.
According to her, Kokalari uses or has used the names Evi Angelakis, Evis Kokalari and/or Evis Angelakis. “Kokalari owns the firm Golden Key Investment Group, also headquartered in New York, and that it has filed several lawsuits against Bleona Qerreti,” the lawyers write. “Kokalari intentionally presented distorted facts for some images,” the lawyers claim.

In the lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court in mid-August 2025, Bleona Qerresti's lawyers write that Kokalari published a series of false statements claiming that they were "based on things Bleona herself told me."
"For example, Kokalari claimed that the plaintiff had told him that the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and the moderator/singer Alketa Vejsiu 'had been together for a long time and that [Rama] wanted to leave his wife to marry her'. This claim is untrue. The plaintiff never said such a thing," the lawyers assert.

VoxNews has analyzed the lawsuit, where Bleona Qerreti's lawyers write that; "Kokalari also claimed that the plaintiff had told him that a former president of Albania was in a relationship with Albanian singer Xhensila Myrtezaj. Further, Kokalari said that the plaintiff had admitted to him that she had slept with former presidents and ministers of Albania and Kosovo. These are also false statements, fabricated by Kokalari to damage the plaintiff's reputation and to ruin her relationships with various influential people. According to information and belief, Kokalari did this to win the hearts of the same people."
The lawyers write that Bleona never told Kokalari these things. “Also, she has never slept with former presidents and ministers of Albania or Kosovo. Kokalari invented these lies to present the plaintiff as untrustworthy and immoral, and thus to damage her brand and public image,” the indictment continues. At the end of the indictment, Bleona Qerreti asks Evi Kokalari for the sum of 2 million dollars for all the lies she has told. The plaintiff seeks an order for Kokalari to retract any and all defamatory statements. She seeks an order for Kokalari to pay compensatory damages in an amount to be determined during the trial, but not less than 2 million dollars, which is based on the fact that Kokalari’s defamatory behavior has significantly disrupted the plaintiff’s otherwise successful career as a musician.
The lawyers write that they are asking the court to order Kokalari to pay punitive damages in an amount to be determined during the trial and to award pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs, and any other or further damages that this court may deem just and appropriate. /Taken from “ Vox News ”
