On the eve of the announcement of the new cabinet on September 11, former advisor to Prime Minister Edi Rama, Ornela Çuçi, commented on the challenges and expectations from the Rama 4 government.
Çuçi emphasized that Albania needs a government with real power of technicians.
"I would like to finally have a completely technical government. Even though technicians have failed us time and time again, power should be given to them. If only the prime minister decides on everything, then nothing can be done properly by professionals," Çuçi told "Dritare Tv".
Regarding Prime Minister Rama's promise that "no minister will stay in office for more than 5 years," Çuçi expressed her conviction that it really won't happen.
"In my opinion, yes. I don't believe they will be in the ministry anymore ," she said.
According to her, the new cabinet is expected to have radical changes.
"I think that Rama will form a government with previously unknown figures, with unsung people, from SPAK. I believe that all ministers will be changed, from the Interior to the Justice Minister. If the number one goal is the EU, then we should have technical ministers ," added the former advisor.
Çuçi also stopped at the political successor of the SP leader, emphasizing the lack of a clear figure who can inherit Edi Rama's leadership.
"Rama's biggest challenge is to leave inheritable institutions within the SP. There is no successor yet. Erion Veliaj had the charisma of a leader, but unfortunately I don't see him returning to politics."
All eyes are now on September 11, when the new cabinet of the Rama 4 government is expected to be made official. Who will leave and who will come to the government, we will see in a few days," she added.
