Journalist Osman Stafa has reacted to the statements of the QSUT, which he describes as lies.
The staff writes that the official email from the QSUT indicates that the laboratory service is limited: fees have reached the monthly ceiling, the concessionaire only covers 5% of the analyses, and each test request must be approved by the deputy technical director for urgent cases.
According to him, this means that most patients cannot get their tests done, while those in critical condition face bureaucracy and delays.
The journalist adds that the leaders of the QSUT are denying this reality, endangering the health and lives of citizens.
"Health cannot be measured by budget. The question is simple: do patients get their tests on time or do they have to wait until next month or go private?" Stafa wrote in his response.
Journalist Osman Stafa's reaction:
The email from QSUT itself that I published a few days ago proves with facts, in black and white, that the leaders of this institution are lying publicly.
In this official email, QSUT clearly announces that:
The concessionaire's laboratory service fees have reached 100% of the monthly budget ceiling;
From August 25 to September 1, laboratory service will be provided only for urgent and very serious cases;
The concessionaire, according to the contract, will cover only 5% of the total volume of analyses;
Any request for analysis will go through the bureaucratic filter of the deputy technical director, who will decide whether an analysis will be performed or not.
So, not only is laboratory service limited, but ordinary patients are excluded from the right to receive their tests because the budget has been exhausted.
But even those in serious condition or in urgent cases cannot have tests done directly. Initially, the doctors of these patients must request confirmation to do the tests from the deputy director of PAI. If he says yes, they are done, if he says no, the patient in serious condition or in an emergency will have to wait. Since confirmation is required for these cases, does that mean that the request can be rejected, or not?
There is no room for misinterpretation in this document: it is a de facto interruption of laboratory service for most patients. This is irrefutable proof that the QSUT is lying publicly when it denies the problems.
And this is exactly where the worst part lies: QSUT is lying consciously. The leaders of this institution know very well how the system works, they know that the budget has been exhausted, they know that services have been limited, but they still come out and deny it. When an institution lies intentionally, it not only deceives citizens, but does it in the dirtiest way possible: by playing with the lives and health of patients.
The health of citizens cannot be measured by budget ceilings and concession percentages. This is a serious management scandal and a betrayal of patients who wait day and night for their diagnosis and treatment.
Instead of dealing with empty denials and accusations of 'fake news', the leaders of the QSUT should come out before the public and admit the truth: the laboratory system has entered financial collapse and the first victims are the patients.
Then, more than my accusations, or the reactions of the QSUT, the patients know the answer to this situation. Do they do the tests in the last 10 days of the month at the hospital, or do they wait until next month? Or do they go to a private clinic?
