Just a few days after taking office, the General Director of the State Police, Skënder Hita, was seen today at the SPAK premises.
It is learned that he held a meeting this Wednesday with the head of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), Klodian Braho, at the premises of this institution.
Hita was seen entering the SPAK building by vehicle from the main entrance, around noon, while sources indicated that the focus of the meeting was issues related to inter-institutional cooperation between the State Police and the special investigation structure.
This meeting marks the first time that the head of SPAK hosts Skënder Hita in an official meeting, following the latter's appointment as head of the State Police.
During the time that Altin Dumani was at the head of SPAK, there were frequent accusations from the latter that many police leaders have connections to the criminal world. Meanwhile, Hita himself, when he took office, warned that there would be zero tolerance for anyone. It seems that with the appointment of the new heads of the police and SPAK, a new spirit of cooperation between the two institutions will begin. Also, this meeting may signal that SPAK is getting ready for strong blows, mainly in the ranks of organized crime.
Earlier today, Skënder Hita held the first meeting with international partners, with the delegation from the EUROPOL Organized and Serious Crime Center (ESOCC). Director Hita assured the delegation representatives of his and the State Police's commitment and determination to further deepen this cooperation. He emphasized that only through close and barrier-free cooperation can concrete results be achieved in the fight against organized crime.
