Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has stated that Sali Berisha has identified more hostile groups within his party than leaders like Enver Hoxha and Stalin in their respective periods.
In an interview for "Today Live in Albania" on Report TV, Spahiu stated that the Democratic Party has gone through a continuous process of disunity, emphasizing that there is no similar precedent in political history.
According to Spahiu, even the communist parties led by Hoxha and Stalin have not had as many exclusions and internal divisions as the DP has over the years. He added that, according to him, this party no longer includes important figures from its founding, former political persecuted or representatives of other strata historically linked to it, while it has produced a large number of factions.
"Statistically, Sali Berisha has invented and discovered more hostile groups within the party than Enver Hoxha and Stalin combined. In reality, neither party, whether Stalin's communist party or Enver Hoxha's communist party, has had as many exceptions within them as the DP. Berisha's DP is the only one that has no founder of December 8 in its fold, no political prisoners, none of the former owners and political dissidents, it is the only one that has created 17 parties within it in 36 years. There is no party in the entire political history of the world, whether communist or democratic, that has spawned so many factions. For the sake of truth, these are not all traitors. If you want to see the weakness of a party, look at the enemies it discovers within itself," said Spahiu.
He added that the responsibility for this situation lies with the party leadership, emphasizing that the selection of members was made by the leadership itself.
"The fact that the Democrats are selling out, we are taking the option, the accusation with which Berisha anathematizes his opponents within the party, even in this case shows the weakness of the party, of the leadership because it was he who elected them," said Spahiu.
