Crossing the Qafë Thana border crossing into North Macedonia continues to be accompanied by long waits. Travelers are waiting up to three hours to cross the border, while queues have increased significantly.
Although Albanian and North Macedonian authorities announced that a new agreement would shorten the time of procedures, this has not yet happened.
The new system has not been put into operation and the agreement remains unimplemented. As a result, citizens continue to stand in line for hours, in high temperatures, waiting to cross the border.
