Professor and analyst Lutfi Dervishi has attracted attention on social networks with a satirical poem that ironizes the phenomena of the Albanian transition.
Titled "Metamorphosis," he describes through verse the immediate transformations of individuals in public life, touching with humor and irony on topics such as quick enrichment, power, politics, and the lack of meritocracy.
It satirizes the way status, wealth, and power can change overnight.
Dervish's post:
metamorphoses
Yesterday no one knew them, today they have become VIPs
They went into hiding, the elite woke up.
Yesterday they were selling white, today they are gentlemen,
Traffickers went dark, businessmen woke up.
Yesterday they were "arrivers", today they are first in line,
The doors were closed, the owners woke up.
Yesterday without high school, today with college,
Illiterates went to bed, deputies woke up!
Yesterday hungry, today with a little belly
They went to bed with a kiosk, they woke up with oligarchs.
Yesterday without a single penny, today with full pockets,
Traitors went to bed, patriots woke up!
