Bad weather isolates villages in Maliq and Pogradec, over 30 families stranded

Heavy rainfall and difficult weather conditions have led to a significant deterioration of the condition of roads in rural areas of the Maliq Municipality and the administrative units of Pogradec.

As a result, traffic has become difficult, while dozens of residents have remained isolated.

In the village of Dushar, around 30 families are reported to be stranded, as the road has become impassable. In an emergency, residents have been forced to intervene themselves, temporarily opening the road to allow passage and avoiding an even more serious situation.

According to field verifications and contacts with elders, serious problems have been identified in the Dardhas unit, specifically:

In the village of Stropckë, a neighborhood has been blocked by a landslide.

In Dardhas there is collapse and erosion of the road that requires intervention. The road that connects Dardhas with the upper villages has become impassable, isolating almost 6 villages of Gora. (Osnat, Dërdushë, Niçë, Prenisht, Lekas, Stërkanj)

In Dërdushë, a stream has been blocked by inert materials.

In Osnat, the bridge near the river is impassable, while at the exit of the village there are landslides that require cleaning.

In Nice, a bridge has been blocked by heavy rain and is impassable.

In Stërkanj, there is extensive damage to the road and passage is only possible with heavy vehicles.

In the Proptiste unit, intervention with a excavator is needed to open roads in the villages of Selishte, Zall Torrë, Rrodokal Sipër and Kriçkovë.

Meanwhile, in the Çërrava unit, the road connecting Çërrava with Lumas requires intervention for gravel placement, as it has been damaged and is making traffic difficult.
