The suspect in the murder of Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi, an event that occurred on September 27, in Salari, Tepelena, has surrendered to the Gjirokastra police.
The suspect, Kamer Sulçaj, surrendered himself accompanied by his lawyer.
He has refused to give statements to the police regarding the circumstances or motives of the crime.
"I will not give any explanation today but at a later stage and in the presence of the lawyer," he stated.
Italian businessman Eduardo Sarchi was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning, October 27, in Salari, Tepelena. He was allegedly held for 20 minutes in terror along with his friends.
According to the investigative file, the perpetrator, Kamer Sulçaj, shot several times in the air and then at the Italian businessman and his 3 friends. One of the bullets hit the Italian businessman in the thigh, who in the file is said to have been a victim as a result of a conflict that started between his partner's son and the perpetrator over the high beams of the car.
The son of Eduardo Sarch's partner told police that their car broke down on the road due to lack of fuel, and his father and the Italian businessman went to help them, in two different cars. In his testimony, he told police officers that at this moment the barrage of bullets began, which lasted for over 20 minutes.
