Valter Bami, brother of Durim Bami, known for his work in justice, was stopped yesterday by Elbasan police during a routine check in the city while he was alone in a vehicle.
Initially, the detention was related to the suspicion that he had violated the "house arrest" security measure.
Immediately after the arrest, Bami was escorted to the Elbasan Local Police Directorate for verification.
But after the check, it turned out that Valter Bami had already served his house arrest and was no longer under this security measure. For this reason, he was released.

Bami, who was taken to the police station in connection with the attack on Gentian Bejtja's apartment, where his brother-in-law was killed and his two minor sons were injured, was suspected by the Tirana prosecution of being involved in the Larushku massacre, where Ramazan Sino, 28, was killed and his two grandsons were injured.
Bejtja was in the car with them, but a few minutes before arriving at his villa in Larushk, he got out of the car, escaping the assassination attempt. Valter Bami claimed that he had nothing to do with the incident and that he had been in his apartment when the crime occurred.
Bami claimed in the meeting with his lawyer Ilir Murati that the gunpowder traces on his hands were because he regularly shoots with a sporting gun that he has in his apartment with a permit.
Bami even stated that Ramazan Sinon was a relative and feels regret for the incident that occurred.
"I regret the loss of the life of Ramazan Sino, who is my cousin, as Ramazan's mother and my mother are aunts' daughters. I will surrender the gun permit I own and request my release," the accused is reported to have said.
Valter Bami and Gentjan Bejtja have been in a strong conflict with each other in recent years as the two Bami brothers have strong suspicions that Bejtja can speak and testify about the many terrible crimes that have occurred in the Kruja area.
