Bad news for Medon Berisha and his club, Lecce. The Albanian midfielder will be out for the next five to six weeks after suffering an injury in the match against Pisa five days ago. The player was forced to leave the field early due to a muscle injury and was carried off on a stretcher, causing concern among the technical staff and fans.
According to medical examinations published by the Verdhek club, Berisha has suffered a second-degree muscle injury, which will keep him out of action for at least 40 days. His return is expected no earlier than the end of January 2026.
As a result, the 22-year-old will miss several important league games, including matches against Como, Juventus, Roma, Parma, Inter, Milan, Lazio and Torino. The injury came at a very positive moment for Berisha, who had become an undisputed starter in Serie A.
Before the forced suspension, Berisha had won the "Player of the Match" award three times, confirming his excellent form. He had played 13 of the 15 matches this season, with 2 goals and 3 assists, statistics that rank him among the most effective players of the Pula team.
The midfielder is expected to be ready for the Albanian national team and coach Silvinjo in the play-off matches on the road to the 2026 World Cup.
