Albania-Serbia Supermatch/ Tirana 'secured', 2 thousand police forces

Today is the big Albania-Serbia clash, a match that will take place at 8:45 PM, at the "Arena Kombëtare" stadium in Tirana.

Tirana is under tight security measures today for the Albania-Serbia match, which will be played at 20:45 at the "Arena Kombëtare" stadium. Over two thousand State Police officers, including RENEA, FNSH, Anti-Terrorism and SHISH, are engaged in the smooth running of the event.

Security measures were taken by Rinas the day before with the arrival of the Serbian team.

The area around the stadium will be "armored" and vehicle traffic will be restricted from 3:00 PM on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, George W. Bush Street, Elbasani Street and the entrance roads to the stadium. Traffic will be restricted until the end of the match and the fans disperse.

Fans must report to the stadium entrance at 6:00 PM and will be subject to thorough security checks. They will be subject to detailed security checks and will not be allowed to bring in prohibited items such as flares, fireworks or banners with offensive or racist content.

There will be no Serbian fans due to the punishment given by UEFA.

Police have warned of criminal penalties for any act of violence, including entering the field or hitting athletes. Also, any drone attempting to take off in the security zone will be immediately neutralized using anti-drone equipment.

Road axes that will be blocked:

"Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard, from the intersection near the Presidency towards "Mother Teresa" Square,

“Pope John Paul II” street,

"Dervish Hima" street, near the US Embassy,

"Asim Zeneli" street, near the US Embassy,

“Themistokles Germenji” street,

"Gjergj Filipi" street,

"Lekë Dukagjini" street, near the former Republic Guard to the stadium,

"Faik Konica" street

"Skerdilajd Llagami" street.

Buses with local fans coming from Korça and Elbasan will be parked at the local "Kalvin" parking lot, while cars will be parked at the "Studenti" terminal near the city.

Parking for buses coming from the north and south will be done at the "Vehicle Processing Terminal" parking lot near the Kamza overpass, while cars will be parked at the parking lot near the "Asllan Rusi" sports palace, at the underground parking lot at "Skënderbej" Square, as well as at the underground parking lot at "Bulevardi i Ri", at the former train station.

The road from the hotel where the Serbian football team is accommodated, located on "Gjergj Fishta" Boulevard, to the direction of the "Arena Kombëtare" stadium, via "Bajram Curri" Boulevard, until 18:45, will have partial restrictions until the moment the team is escorted to the stadium to play the match.
