It is reported that the buyers of the northeastern club are two people, a foreign citizen from Latvia and an Albanian, whose identity has not yet been revealed.
The agreement for the sale of the shares was reached this Tuesday and now the northeastern club is ready to start a new era, this time without the Gjici family.
It seems that a new cycle has already started in the northeastern club. The new owners already have 100% of the shares, as the formalization of the ownership transfer agreement is expected to take place on August 10.
It is also learned that the former defender of the Albanian national team, Renato Arapi, is expected to be appointed technical director of the north-eastern club, while the sports director will come from Latvia, with the identity still to be revealed.
During the 'regime' of the Gjici family, Kukësi experienced its most golden era, rising to the elite of Albanian football where it won 1 championship title, 2 Cups and 1 Super Cup, as well as passing several rounds in the European qualifiers, where the achievement the highest was in the 2013-2014 season where they went all the way to the Europa League Play-Offs
This season, Kukësi will compete in the First Category, where it returned after more than a decade, as the ambition of the new owners is to return it to the elite of Albanian football.
