After the defeat to Napoli, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri openly stated that the race for the championship title could be considered over.
With a nine-point gap to Inter and only seven games remaining, the only objective for the Rossoneri remains securing a Champions League spot for next season.
On Saturday, April 11, Milan will host Udinese at the San Siro, in a match that is considered crucial for maintaining their position among the top four teams. On the eve of this match, Allegri analyzed the team's situation and stressed the importance of returning to victory.
"We have to maintain balance. The loss to Napoli is part of the championship, but one match cannot undo the work of an entire season. We will analyze both the positive and negative aspects," he said.
The Italian coach also focused on the performance of some key players such as Pulisic and Leao, mentioning the physical problems that have affected their form, as well as the lack of goals.
"Unfortunately, injuries have prevented them from returning to optimal form. However, they have contributed with important goals. Nkunku, Gimenez, Leao, Pulisic and Fullkrug are quality players. Even against Napoli we created chances near the penalty area, but we made mistakes. There are moments when you can't make it concrete," said Allegri.
He also commented on the rumors about the position of coach of the Italian national team, where he has been mentioned as a candidate.
"Before the coach is decided, the president must be determined. Then we'll see," he concluded.
