Germany extended their winning run to 11 games with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast on Saturday, a result that secured their place in the knockout stages of the World Cup. Now, Julian Nagelsmann's team has the chance to make history in their final group game against Ecuador.

If they manage to win this match, Germany will equal the historical record of 12 consecutive victories, set between May 1979 and June 1980 under coach Jupp Deruoll.

Despite the result against Ecuador, the Germans have already secured first place in the group. They lead the standings with six points and an impressive 9-2 goal difference, confirming their good form in this edition of the World Cup.
