Lando Norris was the absolute protagonist of the qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix, securing "pole position" on the Hungaroring track. The British McLaren driver performed a fantastic lap in the final moments, with a time of 1:17.207, leaving his rivals behind and taking first place at the start of Sunday's race.
Norris was just 0.012 seconds faster than Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton, who will start from second place. A very positive performance for the Italian team was completed by Charles Leclerc, who secured third place, confirming the "redhead"'s good form before the race.
The qualifying session ended under yellow flags after Max Verstappen went off the track on the final corner. The incident forced the drivers to slow down in the final metres, ending any chance of improving their times. The Dutchman will start the race from sixth position.
Kimi Antonelli was fourth, while Oscar Piastri in McLaren was fifth. With the track improving steadily throughout the session, the battle for pole position was open until the final seconds, promising a spectacular race on Sunday.
The top ten was completed by Max Verstappen, George Russell, Isaac Hadjar, Arvid Lindblad and Nico Hulkenberg.
