Mirlind Daku's transfer from Rubin Kazan to Zenit St. Petersburg has stalled and could be called off. Russian media outlet 'Sport Ekspres' reports that the halt in negotiations is related to the national team striker's salary.
The party representing Daku's interests wants the striker to have a salary of 3 million euros per season, while Zenit is willing to pay up to 2.2 million euros per season.
Earlier, Russian media reported that Zenit was willing to pay 8.5 million euros for Daku from Rubin Kazan, while now the only obstacle is related to the 27-year-old's salary. The difference is huge, a full 800 thousand euros per season, and it is expected that the parties will have another communication, as Daku's future at Zenit seems to have stalled.
