Broja among the "surplus", Chelsea puts the Albanian striker and 6

A silent "revolution" is being prepared at Chelsea's home. According to an exclusive report by the prestigious American newspaper "The New York Times", the London club has decided to end the adventure of several players who are no longer considered part of the technical project of the new coach, Enzo Mareska. The list of "surpluses" for next season also includes Albanian striker Armando Broja, along with well-known names such as Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga and Karnei Çukuemeka.

A clear signal that confirms that Chelsea is in a deep reconstruction phase, where the absolute priority is to reduce the number of players and raise funds to regulate finances. Currently, the London Blues' transfer market is practically blocked, precisely because the club's leaders have as their primary goal to create financial space to avoid risking violating the "Financial Fair Play" rules, set by UEFA and the Premier League. These financial restrictions have forced the leaders to make tough decisions, even on players who only a year or two ago were considered important investments for the future.

Broja, who returned to the field after a serious injury in December 2022, has failed to convince Pochettino before, and does not seem to be part of Maresca's plans either. The Albanian national team striker was temporarily loaned to Fulham, then Everton, but failed to make an impression. Chelsea are looking to make around 25-30 million euros from his sale, with interest from several Premier League clubs such as Wolverhampton, Everton and Aston Villa, while several Bundesliga routes are also on the horizon.

In Sterling's case, his high salary makes his departure more complicated, while Chilwell and Disasi have become "victims" of the restructuring policy, which aims to give more space to younger elements such as Malo Gusto and Levi Colwell.

Behind the scenes, according to The New York Times, is Mareska's new sports plan, which has called for a smaller squad to better suit his football based on possession and fast turnover. Broja, who is more of a physical striker, does not fit this profile.

In this situation, everything will depend on Chelsea's ability to generate revenue from these sales. Only after this phase is it expected that the club will become more active in the transfer market, with some concrete targets already scanned by Mareska and the directors. Among them, another center-forward could arrive, Joshua Zirkzi or Victor Osimhen, to fill the void left by Broja.

The Albanian's future seems far from "Stamford Bridge" and, in all likelihood, this summer will be decisive in getting his career back on track.
