Barcelona started the new La Liga season with a convincing 0-3 victory at Mallorca, sending a strong message about their title defence. Xavi Hernández's team took the lead in the first half, thanks to two quick goals that gave them an inevitable advantage.
Raphinha opened the scoring in the 7th minute, capitalizing on a brilliant assist from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal, a talent who is making a name for himself. Just 16 minutes later, in the 23rd minute, Ferran Torres doubled the lead with a beautiful goal, making it 0-2.
The first half turned into an ordeal for Mallorca, who were put in a very difficult position after two red cards. First, Morlans was sent off in the 39th minute, and just seconds later, Albanian striker Vedat Muriqi saw red after a VAR intervention, leaving the home team with only nine players.
With two more players on the field, Barcelona managed the game well and controlled everything until the extra minutes. In the 90+2 minute, Lamine Yamal, who also assisted the first goal, scored the third goal for Barcelona, sealing a clean victory and a magical evening for the Catalan club.
