Renowned model Dajana Kalo is facing one of the most difficult moments of her life, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, a serious and life-threatening condition.
As a result of this serious health condition, Dajana has lost the ability to move her right hand and leg and is currently under constant specialized medical care. She is expected to undergo emergency brain surgery, followed by a long rehabilitation process.
The news came after her sister, Bora Kalo, opened a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the high costs of treatment and recovery. The campaign has sparked an overwhelming response from Albanian citizens, who in record time have managed to raise around 200,000 euros to support her.
In her touching message, Bora Kalo explains that Dajana, only 25 years old, has been hospitalized in Tirana for almost a month, after a hemorrhage caused by Arteriovenous Malformation, where blood vessels in the brain are abnormally formed and can rupture without warning.
According to her, after the surgery, Dajana will need specialized treatment, intensive physiotherapy and long-term rehabilitation, and for a long period she will not be able to work or walk and move the right side of her body. Her sister will also have to stop working to take care of her during recovery.
"Every donation, regardless of the amount, gives Dajana a better chance for recovery and a normal life. If you are unable to donate, distributing the campaign is equally valuable to us," writes Bora Kalo in her thank-you message.
The event has deeply affected public opinion, demonstrating the great solidarity of Albanians in difficult human moments.
