Not just a Netflix series, the terrifying truth behind Squid Game

Squid Game, the incredible and hugely popular Netflix series, is based on true events!

Yes, it's not a purely fictional story, but a true one, which is actually very similar to the story of the series, which has just released its third season and is making as much noise as the first.

But how and what was revealed in real events?

In the 1980s, a private social center called the "Brothers' House" operated in Busan, South Korea.

It was used to collect homeless people, orphans, and people with disabilities — part of a campaign to "clean up" the streets before the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

Officially, the facility was supposed to help those in need — providing food, shelter, and support. In reality, it was a concentration camp with brutal and inhumane conditions.

Inside, there were beatings, torture, murder, forced labor, and even human trafficking. Some accounts mention horrific “games” organized by staff — sometimes for the entertainment of high-profile guests.

Between 1975 and 1986, between 513 and 657 people died at that facility, according to various reports.

The parallels with Squid Game – exploitation, human suffering, and deadly “fun” – are terrifyingly real.
