Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are in the process of separating after 10 years of marriage. The 44-year-old actress and singer described the situation in her relationship with the former San Francisco player as painful.
Jessica Simpson revealed exclusively to People magazine that they were already living separately, but that her decision was made based on what was best for their three children: Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5.
“Eric and I have been living apart, going through a painful situation in our marriage… Our children come first and we are focused on what is best for them. We are grateful for all the love and support we have received and appreciate privacy at this time as we navigate this as a family,” Simpson told PEOPLE.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson got married in July 2014.
