Presenter and former contestant of 'Big Brother VIP Albania', Meriton Mjekiqi, was arrested along with his brother, Rinor, yesterday (July 22).
Kosovo Police confirmed the arrests on charges of assault with serious consequences against a person, for the incident that occurred on July 11 of this year, following a conflict between two parties.
The person has sustained serious injuries and is being treated in hospital, as a result of the violence inflicted by the two brothers, for reasons still unknown, Kosovar media reports.
The suspects had been on the run since the date of the incident, but they reported to the Obiliq Police Station around 3:00 PM, where they were interviewed in the presence of defense lawyers.
And today, in the 24-hour report of the Kosovo police, it is stated that the pair was arrested on July 22, following the investigations that followed the incident.
"On 22.07.2025, two Kosovar male suspects were arrested, who allegedly physically attacked the Kosovar male victim on 11.07.2025," the police report states.
The other person suffered serious bodily injuries. Mjekiqi and his brother are suspected of committing the criminal offense of "serious bodily injury".
