The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group has sent a request to the Assembly for the development of a motion with debate, assessing that the ongoing citizen protests and concerns raised about government transparency should be addressed immediately in Parliament.
The request signed by the chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, states that the protesters have articulated five main demands: the removal of the government, the repeal of the legal framework for strategic investments, the annulment of the legislation known as the "Mountains Package", as well as the repeal of the amendments to the law on protected areas and the law on cultural heritage.
According to the Democratic Party, these issues have long been raised by the opposition, which has filed legal initiatives in Parliament aimed at repealing these acts.
Previously, the Democratic Party has also requested the development of a motion with debate regarding the European Commission's Report on Albania's integration process into the European Union.
