Why is Rama rushing with the elections in Tirana?
It is enough to see Ogerta Manastirliu's face to understand the real situation within the Socialist Party regarding the elections in the Municipality of Tirana.
Without consulting the party forums, at the SP Assembly Rama announced Ogerta Manastirliu as a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana. At the same time, he also sealed the political end of Veliaj, regardless of the fact that there are laws and courts. Yesterday his request was materialized with the dismissal of Veliaj and what is striking is that Rama is not that enthusiastic. Rama knows that Veliaj has many supporters in Tirana and, unlike the May 11 elections, the situation in the local elections is different.
Today at lunchtime, he gathered the deputy mayors at the Prime Minister's Office, giving directives and orders. Meanwhile, in the afternoon, he gathered the ministers, MPs and former MPs of Tirana at the SP headquarters, demanding that they get ready for the elections.
But what stood out was Manastirliu's face. During the 30 minutes that Rama spoke, Ogerta did not smile for a moment. Her face was frowning the entire time. Also, Rama spoke alone and did not give the floor to the candidate at any point, even though he had taken her side.
Even when Rama announced her as a candidate, Ogerta showed on her face that she is not for this job. She was brilliant in Health, while in Education she was not so bad. Ogerta knows that she will be Bablok's "dice" at the municipality. Not that she is not a minister, but the responsibilities at the municipality are greater. As a minister, no one holds you accountable, but if as mayor you do not do this job, it is the citizens who will unmask you. Also, the risk of ending up at SPAK if Bablok gets upset is very great.
Rama himself also seems worried. He also seemed gloomy. Despite saying that they have the victory in their pocket, it seems that Rama's fear is for the situation from within. Veliaj is indeed in prison and a large part betrayed him, but he still has supporters. Rama's fear is that they could stage a "coup" against Ogerta in the new elections.
The second element is that Rama has made up his mind to go to the elections, without taking into account two elements: first, if Veliaj appeals to the Constitutional Court, there cannot be an election announcement; second, the final signature is with the president.
But it seems that Rama is rushing to close this process as quickly as possible, as he knows that if he delays, there may be "surprises" from Veliaj, who has sent him the message that if he speaks, the PS will be shaken. /Pamphlet
