The leader of the "Bashkë" Movement, Arlind Qori, has confirmed that he will be a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana in the 2027 local elections.
In a statement to the media, he expressed that he is ready to take on any political responsibility, emphasizing that his candidacy comes as a continuation of his previous commitment in the capital.
" We do not need to unite with any political entity. I am ready to take on any kind of task. I have been proposed to be a candidate from the Together Movement. I have had this experience once in 2023. I experience Tirana like any other citizen. I am sure that I will live among the citizens of Tirana ," said Qori.
He added that any candidate who comes from the Socialist Party will be responsible for the current government.
" Whoever runs from the SP will take on Rama's responsibilities. Just like anyone who comes out of Berisha's kindergarten ," he declared.
In parallel, Qori also spoke about previous discussions with the European Union Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, where the focus was on changes to the Electoral Code and party financing, criticizing the major parties for the lack of concrete reforms.
According to him, the "Together Movement" does not aim for political alliances, but a direct confrontation in the elections.
" I received an invitation from Mr. Gonzato and the topic was about possible changes in the electoral code and the political system in Albania. For us, the party financing law is very important. The SP and the DP are sitting at a table and are beating water in the air. In addition to lacking a party financing law, we also lack a serious proposal that only we as a movement have put forward earlier.
We propose to have stronger rules and penalties for illegal financing. We have a series of proposals that we hope will not fall on deaf ears. I go with great pleasure and discuss seriously, but I stay grounded. I do not want to use meetings with international representatives for politics. If the other side publishes the meeting, that is their right ,” said Qori.
