Evi Kokalari has reacted harshly to former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, accusing him of diverting the mission of the "Reestablishment" movement for personal interests.
In a post on social media, Kokalari states that this movement "never fulfilled its mission", as according to her, Berisha "took her hostage and used her only to take control of the party and use it for family businesses".
She also claims that the credibility of "Refoundation" is linked to her role in the beginnings of this movement.
"The time has come for Risthemili to return to the person who gave credibility to that movement, and that was me, NOT Sali Berisha ," writes Kokalari.
In the same reaction, she calls on Democratic Party supporters to distance themselves from Berisha and commit to reclaiming the party's structures.
"Gather your forces, get rid of Berisha and come and take Rithemelimi," Kokalari emphasizes.
Kokalari also criticizes other figures within the opposition, noting that some of them were not part of the movement early on or were involved later.
Her statements come at a time when the Democratic Party continues to face internal divisions and debates over its political direction and future.
"The Reestablishment never fulfilled its mission, because Sali Berisha took that hostage and used it only to take control of the party and use it for family businesses.
The time has come for the Reestablishment to return to the person who gave credibility to that movement, and that was me, NOT Sali Berisha."
My credibility is still solid, because my integrity—even though they tried hard to smear me—remained intact.
But with the same integrity and sincerity, I say to all democrats, especially those who came to every podium and not because Flamur Noka forced them:
Gather your forces, get rid of Berisha and come and take over Rithemelimi, which neither Gaz Bardhi, nor "Babalet" nor Këlliçi were part of. Don't forget that Këlliçi joined the pulpits very late and after (they say) they threatened him with materials they had about him.
"We must take the Reestablishment from Berisha and, as a consequence, the DP, because without the Reestablishment, the DP would still belong to Lul Basha ," writes Kokalari.
