A year has passed since the death of the writer Naum Prifti, who raised tens of generations of children with his stories.
In the 90s, he left Albania for America where he stayed until the end of his life, but his bequest was that his body be cremated and his ashes distributed where he was born, in Albania.
His daughters Julika and Rafaela Prifti have told "Euronews" that despite living in America for years, he returned to Albania because he felt 100% Colonist and Rehovar. Unfortunately, during Covid-19, Naum Prifti did not have the opportunity to come to Albania with his daughters because he was not in good health, so he left them a bequest: " Burn my body like Peter's brother, and throw away my ashes between Albania and America. "
Naum Prifti was born in Rehovo, Cologne, in 1932. As a young man, he was passionate about literature, so he studied Albanian Language and Literature at the State University of Tirana. In the years 1954-1960, he worked as an editor in Hosteni magazine and then in "Ylli" magazine.
In 1967-70 he was sent to Divjakë to work as a teacher. In 1992 he immigrated to America together with his family where he continued his work. For 15 years he worked as the secretary of the Vatra Pan-Albanian Federation, where he was committed to the protection of the rights of the Albanian community and did not leave behind his love for the pen.
