Skopje, March 18, 2024 - The Director of the State Archives of Croatia, Dinko Čutura, received today in a working meeting in Zagreb, the director of the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians, Prof. dr. Skender Asanin. This visit comes after an excellent collaboration with the State Archives of Croatia, where several researches of not only scientific, but also national interest were carried out.

The fruit of these researches was the collection of documentation on the patriotic activity of Albanian illegals from the Second World War to the eighties of the last century, as well as the two-volume publication of the book "Albanian illegality, the precursor to the destruction of Yugoslavia". The coming to light of this special publication would not have been possible without the rich fund of authentic documents, in the form of files, of the State Archives of Croatia, which were systematized, translated and prepared for publication by ITSHKSH researchers.

Today's visit of Director Asani to the State Archives of Croatia is the continuation of the research work of ITSHKSH that is expected to be developed in the next period, where some events and personalities from the past, who had extraordinary contributions in the subsequent processes, will be illuminated political and national Albanians in the former Yugoslavia.

The focus of this meeting was also the possibility of a more advanced scientific and research cooperation in the future between the two institutions and therefore the director of the State Archives of Croatia, Dinko Čutura, warned that in the not too distant future he will visit ITSHKSH to get to know more closely its work and all-round activity. Director Asani has welcomed this warning, adding that the relations of Albanians with Croatia are much earlier and they should be deepened, as a strong indicator of mutual respect and understanding between the two peoples.

The Ambassador of North Macedonia in Croatia, Mr. Milaim Fetahu, to whom director Asani expressed sincere thanks and gratitude.
