The film 'Napoleon' is criticized by historians: There are scenes that

Historians seem to be unhappy with Ridley Scott's new film, 'Napoleon'. The biopic, which stars Joaquin Phoenix as the French soldier-turned-emperor, includes depictions of some of the most famous European battles in history.

"It's not a documentary, we know that! But it will be a great work of art,” said Dan Snow, a historian and TV host, in a 5-minute TikTok video.

Snow and Roberts are two of several historians who have picked apart the film and criticized Scott's loose interpretation of the French emperor's life.

Scott, in response, has not apologized. Asked by the New Yorker about Snow's TikTok post, the famous filmmaker said: "Snow is not the only one who can do something like this: 'Get a life.'

Historians have said that many scenes in the film never happened. One scene, which shows Napoleon shooting at the Egyptian pyramids, has caused particular outrage among academics.
