Ermonela Jaho makes us proud again, she wins an award in Spain as the best

Another success for the well-known Albanian artist, Ermonela Jaho. The best foreign artist who performed in Spain was declared Jaho, where she was also awarded a prize.

The award was presented by the Minister of Justice for her contribution to Spanish poetry. The Albanian soprano has been appreciated and applauded, not a few times, for her voice.

She was born in Tirana, in 1974. She left Albania in 1993 for Italy with a scholarship, and then she had to realize her dream of going on stage, alongside foreign artists.

After completing her singing and piano studies, she won several important competitions, such as: Giacomo Puccini in Milan Italy in 1997, Spontini International Ancona, Italy in 1998, in Rovereto Zandonai, Italy in 1999, the best singer of the Festival Wexford in 2000.

Jaho begins performing on stage in Bologna, in the role of Mimi (Puccini's La Bohème), in La Fenice, and then in the role of Suzana (The Marriage of Figaro), as well as in Trieste in the role of Mikaela (Carmen). Her first stage appearance outside Italy was at the Wexford Festival in Ireland, where she sang Massenet's Sappho, and Tchaikovsky's The Girl of Orleans. In Germany, she appeared as Norina (Don Pasquale) in Munich. Then she performed Suzanne again in Geneva and in France, at the Capitol theater in Toulouse. In the United States, she appears as Mimi, with the Michigan Opera House.

From 2009, her career turns her into a world art icon. It quickly became a worldwide success, with widespread critical acclaim. She continues to appear in Puccini's La rondine in Trieste, Carmen in Glyndebourne and La Traviata in Lyon. In 2009, she comes as Liù (Turandot) in Philadelphia, Vitellia (La Clémence de Titus) in Avignon, and Anne Boleyn in Paris.
