The Special Prosecution Office, SPAK, has organized an action this afternoon to crack down on international cocaine trafficking. The action, executed by the State Police on the orders of SPAK, has led to the arrest of 4 people, two of whom are brothers Artur and Ervin Hoxhosmani, and 1 other person has been declared wanted. It is learned that security measures have been issued against 7 people, including Plarent Dervishaj and Erjon Alibej, who are in prison.
The arrested are accused of trafficking large quantities of cocaine from Latin America to Europe. It is learned that investigations into this drug trafficking case have been ongoing for 1 year.
It was the latter's testimony that led SPAK to crack down on this criminal group, as Alibej confessed to dozens of incidents as well as drug trafficking. SPAK has his testimony and conversations on the Sky Ecc app in hand.
It is also learned that in addition to these arrests, expensive watches, jewelry and luxury cars were seized. Also, new charges were communicated to two prisoners, Plarent Dervishaj and Erion Alibej, in prison cells.
We recall that both Dervishaj and Alibej are involved in the well-known “Golden Bullet” file, which investigates a series of serious crimes in Elbasan and Durrës, including murders, assassinations and arms trafficking. Alibej, as a collaborator of justice, has provided important evidence implicating Dervishaj and other figures of organized crime, causing tensions and fierce debates during court hearings. One such clash occurred on July 4, 2025, when Dervishaj was removed from the courtroom after insulting Alibej.
While Dervishaj remains one of the main defendants, Alibej has taken advantage of his penitent status to ease his legal position by providing information about criminal networks.
