A 40-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted by the police after attempting to cross the border with 14,000 euros undeclared.
The police have seized the amount of money and have forwarded the procedural materials to the prosecutor's office.
"Following the work of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the exit from Albania, a search was carried out in the bag of citizen OK, where 14,000 euros were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.
Following the procedural actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Gjirokastra referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for citizen OK, 40 years old, resident of Fier. Also, the amount of euros was seized as material evidence.
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action," the police announced.
