The Special Court has appointed a medical expert to determine the health condition of former Tirana Road Inspectorate chief Roven Zeka. The latter requested release from his cell because he injured his pelvis after falling in detention.
Based on the doctors' conclusions, a decision will be made on the request of the person under investigation.
Zeka is suspected by SPAK of corruption related to the procedures for an accident, after receiving a bribe of 2 thousand euros.
Earlier, the GJKKO appeal upheld the security measure "prison arrest" against him and officer Edison Tabaku, while the head of accident investigation Sokol Novaku was released under house arrest due to family circumstances.
SPAK arrested them after several wiretaps and conversations revealed that a businessman had paid money so that his wife would not be arrested after causing the accident.
Head of the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat, Roven Zeka, along with Sokol Novaku, head of accident investigation, and traffic police officer Edison Tabaku, were arrested on April 19 after accepting a bribe for manipulating evidence about a traffic accident caused by the wife of businessman Erges Vrioni.
According to the investigative file and wiretaps, since officer Tabaku knew businessman Erges Vrioni, the husband of the woman who caused the accident, he demanded a sum of money from him to avoid arresting Anisa Vrioni.
