Execution of Gilmando Dani, Vangjeli: A "crime-free zone" has been

Two days ago, in a well-organized attack, 47-year-old Gilmando Dani was killed and 40-year-old Muçi Shaljani was injured, who were in a Mercedes-type vehicle. Both the victim and the injured man had just returned from a trip to Spain when they fell into an organized ambush at the Rinas roundabout.

Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli, analyzing the dynamics of the assassination, said that the police should have sought faster intervention.

He compared the situation to the concept of “free economic zones”, emphasizing that for at least 15 years there has been a “crime free zone” in Fushë-Krujë and Nikël, where state authority does not function. According to him, the police should have understood that the perpetrators’ car would take that direction and had notified reinforcements.

"There is often talk about free economic zones, but at least in 15 years there has been a crime-free zone and this is the area of Fushë-Krujë and Nikla. There is an autonomous island where the authority of the state does not function and this police should have understood that this car would take that direction and had announced reinforcements," he said on the "Trialog" show on RTSH1.

Vangjeli described the assassination as an extremely dramatic event for three main reasons: first, because it occurred at the entrance gate of the capital, an area that theoretically should have been safer; second, because the entire dynamic is documented on video, images that, according to him, speak louder than any words and make the event even more shocking; and third, because of the organization of the commando who carried out the attack, described as extraordinary and planned in detail.

Vangjeli added that the sources contacted cannot clearly determine this, but the logic of professionals leads to reasonable suspicions that the information originated in Barcelona, with people who may have played the role of whistleblowers during the flight.

He implied that there were other people involved in signaling the car leaving Rinas, describing how the driver and passenger got into the vehicle, as well as the possibility of a support group that helped carry out the assassination.

Experts, according to him, emphasize that the low traffic at that moment and the blocked access to the airport made immediate intervention impossible, as no one could enter the middle of the "curtain of fire."

"Experts say that despite the light traffic at this moment on both access roads leading to the airport, the moment they heard the gunshots they stopped and realized that no one could enter through the curtain of fire," he added.

According to him, the alleged perpetrators of the crime followed a clear itinerary and he is surprised by the enthusiasm of the people he spoke with, who believe that the perpetrators will be identified very soon.

"I am surprised by the enthusiasm of the people I have spoken to that it will be discovered very soon. They believe that they will quickly identify the people, but they are in a dilemma about how capable they are of proving this," said the analyst.
