A serious accident occurred at the Kardhiqi Bridge on the Gjirokastër-Tepelena axis.
As a result, three people were injured: two drivers of the vehicles involved in the accident and the patient who was being transported by the ambulance involved in the accident.
It is known from the initial investigative actions that the BMW vehicle with license plates TR8732L cut off the path of the Tepelena Hospital ambulance with license plates AB220AT. As a result, the ambulance, after a collision on the right side, ended up on the side of the road, while the BMW vehicle was damaged in the front part.
The latter was coming from the south while the ambulance was transporting a patient to the Gjirokastra Hospital Intensive Care Unit. The patient was further injured after the collision, while the two drivers of the respective vehicles were slightly injured. Police are investigating to determine the causes of the accident.
