Tirana Police have revealed the dynamics of the incident that occurred on Friday morning near the Kamza turnoff, where a 38-year-old man is suspected of attacking a Traffic Police officer while on duty.
According to the official announcement, at around 08:20, citizen Dorian Kaso, 38 years old, immediately approached police officer Loren Rama, who was managing road traffic, and placed a cutting tool (knife) at his throat.
Police say that after this action, the 38-year-old attempted to take the officer's service weapon. However, he was immediately neutralized and handcuffed by police officers in the area.
During the intervention, the cutting tool used in the incident was also seized.
Specialists for the Investigation of Serious Crimes against the Person have arrested the 38-year-old in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Murder of State Police employees", attempted, and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons".
The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, which will continue with further investigative actions.
