From the storm of division to the silence of political wisdom

The Albanian diaspora plays a key role in this process. It is not simply historical memory; it is an active diplomatic and political force that can be mobilized to support unity and guarantee respect for Albanian legitimacy.

Any delay or inaction would mean giving an untenable advantage to those who seek to destabilize the country and the region. Any failure to preserve Albanian unity is not simply a political loss; it is a risk to the stability of the entire region. A destabilized Macedonia could serve as a catalyst for new tensions in Kosovo and Bosnia, paving the way for intervention by regional and global forces that aim to weaken Albania’s position and European orientation.

In the history of every nation, there are moments that cannot be ignored, moments that do not belong to ordinary times, that do not expect indifference and that tolerate neither fear nor calculation. The Albanians of North Macedonia find themselves today in one of these moments. It is not a matter of numbers or temporary power; it is a matter of unity, a shared vision and a determination to defend dignity and the right to equal representation in the state that they themselves helped to build.

This is not simply a call for reflection; it is an alarm. Disunity, indifference or mistaken silence would be surrender in the face of a clear and well-thought-out process of weakening the constitutional position of Albanians. This process has clear outlines and has begun with well-planned phases, aimed at diverting the Albanian cause towards personal gains or foreign influences. History has clearly shown: nations that lose unity also lose their future, and Albanians cannot allow this.

The weeks of the pre-election campaign were a real season of tension. Prime Minister Mickovski's rhetoric built two strategic pillars: on the one hand, it attempted to hijack the Albanian issue and distort the constitutional role of Albanians; on the other, it worked to fragment Albanian political parties, transforming them into instruments of manipulation and neutralizing any voice that could oppose the propaganda of the government.

The goal was clear: to portray Albanians as responsible for any possible destabilization in Macedonia, to push them towards radicalism, and to block any attempt at a European orientation for the country. This strategy was not simply local politics; it had regional and international implications, aiming to pave the way for Serbian influence in Kosovo and Bosnia, and to threaten the stability of the entire region.

In every city and village, Albanians faced aggressive campaigns, with messages that attempted to break unity and bring out internal divisions. But beyond the tension and fiery words, the majority of Albanian citizens remained calm, understanding that the battle is not for one day or for a particular vote, but for the future of generations.

The carefully prepared project, which aimed to create a narrative of confrontation during the day of local elections, failed in the most significant way possible. Instead of the anticipated tension, election day turned into a manifestation of Albanian political maturity, where the Albanian citizen, with a rare historical awareness, chose the path of calm and reason. Where provocation was expected, prudence prevailed; where instinctive reaction was expected, democratic reflection triumphed. Albanians, like never before, proved that they know how to administer the political process with standards reminiscent of Scandinavian democracies, turning silence into the most powerful weapon against manipulation. This silence was not a lack of voice, but a sign of authority, a message that legitimacy does not stem from noise, but from dignity. In this way, Albanians proved that they are not only a state-forming factor, but also guarantors of political order, showing that confrontational projects can be drafted, but cannot triumph in the face of mature national consciousness.

The results of the first round of elections have served as a clear reflection of the urgent need for a new strategic unity within the Albanian political spectrum. They are not just electoral figures, but an indicator of a situation that requires national awareness and historical responsibility. Albanians should read this signal not as a temporary failure, but as a call for unity around a comprehensive platform, which will clearly draft common orientations for the protection of the position of Albanian statehood and for unblocking the country's Euro-integration processes. Only such a strategy, based on consensus, vision and joint action, can restore the Albanian political entity to its historical role as a decisive factor in the stability and European orientation of North Macedonia. Any hesitation, any division or attempt for narrow benefits means a weakening of national power, while every step towards unity will be a step towards the consolidation of statehood and towards the European future of Albanians.

At this time, Albanians have shown that strength is not measured by noise, but by patience, determination and vision. Their cohesion is the most powerful weapon and shield to protect the constitutional position and European orientation of the country. Without unity, Albanians will remain subject to manipulation and will not be able to prevent external destabilizations that aim to undermine Macedonia's European direction and pave the way for foreign influences in the region.

At this sensitive historical moment, the Albanians of North Macedonia stand at the crossroads between the storm of division and the silence of political wisdom. Every action, every decision, and every silence have direct consequences for their future and for the stability of the entire region. Sustainable unity, moral determination, and a shared vision are not just ideals; they are the weapons and shields that can save the Albanian cause from manipulation, destabilization, and foreign influences. History will not forgive any mistakes, and future generations will judge the actions of this generation. Therefore, Albanians must transform silence into strength, unity into strategy, and commitment into determined action, ensuring that North Macedonia remains on its European path and that Albanian statehood is consolidated for the future. This is our historical trust and duty.
