From Trump's imaginary discovery to Rama's strange serum; why Albanian politics is being infected with conspiracy theories
The current US President, Donald Trump, has recently “discovered” a new global virus called “Soros 2”, after a long time when reality seemed to have erased logic from people’s minds. With a strange set design, dressed in a lab coat, golf hat and an American flag on his shoulders, Trump appeared above a secret bunker in Florida and warned the world that Alesi, the son of George Soros, is the most terrible “pandemic” that has ever threatened family, property and freedom.
In Albania, ironically, the Minister of Health has now ended up in prison. The virus of corruption, now chronic in the country, has not only affected Ilir Beqaj, but also many other political and public figures, who continue to be treated in the SPAK "emergency room".
But history has often shown that salvation comes from the most unexpected places. Ilir Beqja, the former minister accused of stealing Albanians’ medicines, seems to have evoked an emotional response in Prime Minister Rama, who himself is under pressure from the Trump “virus.” Satirically, Beqja is said to have created a vaccine with a strange recipe, using mountain tea from his prison cellmate Ilir Meta, some strands of hair from ministers Olta Xhaçka and Frida Krifca, as well as leftovers from Engjëll Agaç’s special tobacco, with which he welcomes Russian, Chinese and Italian strategic investors.
In fact, the alleged "Rama 4" vaccine still remains an enigma, as neither SPAK nor the Americans have certified it. It presents a satirical but symbolic dilemma for Rama: either get the vaccine's "inventor" out of prison, or risk ending up there himself.
On the eve of the May 11 elections, the "Rama 4" vaccine is still viewed with skepticism by European and American diplomats, while conspiracy theories continue to fuel the political cauldron. The "FB" community in our "village" is protesting not only the release of old criminals from prison, but also the lack of handcuffs for those who intend to become MPs.
Meanwhile, in this political theater, the imaginary virus "Soros 2" and the mysterious vaccine "Rama 4" seem like two sides of the same coin: the absurdity that accompanies Albanian politics./ Pamphlet
