Who is the former head of the Assembly who has gone on trial?
The Special Prosecution Office has panicked politics. Yesterday, SPAK's annual report for 2024 was published and it was announced that 33 senior state officials are currently under investigation. But " Pamphlet " has provided new details from this report and it shows the category of officials that SPAK currently has under investigation.
According to SPAK data, a former Speaker of the Assembly is under investigation and has been sent for trial, as well as a former Prime Minister, who is under investigation. At first glance, it seems that the former Speaker of the Assembly is Meta. But if we look at the data, they actually do not match.
SPAK announces that the former head of the Assembly has been sent for trial. In fact, Ilir Meta is under investigation and the file has not been closed. So it is not him. Then who could it be?
In the case of the former prime minister, it is likely to be Berisha. SPAK has closed the investigations and sent the file to court, but the GJKKO has not yet decided to proceed to trial.
SPAK reports that 4 MPs are also under investigation, of which only 1 has been sent for trial. The latter is likely Asllan Dogjani, while we do not know who the other 3 are. Also on the list are 3 former ministers, 7 former mayors, etc.

" During 2024, there were 33 senior officials under investigation (where two of them are registered in two different proceedings each), of which 19 officials have been sent to court with a request for trial. As can be seen from the table above, from the total number of former senior officials under investigation, 19 of them have been sent to court, which represents 52.9% of cases. This data shows a high level of completion of investigations, with concrete charges being filed for this sophisticated level of corruption ," SPAK emphasizes.
It is further reported that regarding the volume of cases under investigation for criminal offenses in the field of corruption, during 2024, the Special Prosecution Office has marked an increase of about 8% compared to the previous year, 447 cases under investigation for 2023, to 483 cases under investigation for 2024). Likewise, the number of persons who were under investigation for 2024 has increased by about 20% compared to those of the previous year (from 212 persons under investigation in 2023, to 257 persons under investigation in 2024). / Pamphlet
