Will the anti-Soros card save Berisha? From the Besa Fund to letters of praise,
Berisha-Soros

Some things should be said as they are and openly. Not that we have anything to do with Soros, as both Xorxhi and Alexi are two evils who have taken this country hostage for 30 years, but Saliu is also partly to blame...

Donald Trump's victory has extolled former prime minister Sali Berisha. Looking at his reactions, he is enjoying this victory more than Trump himself.

We all know the plight of Sali Berisha: he hopes that with his arrival at the head of the White House, the label of "non woman" will be removed and he will be acquitted by justice. Also, if we look at the attitudes of this week, Berisha has returned to the lexicon the attacks on George Soros and his son, Alex.

Knowing that Trump has declared Soros an "enemy", Berisha is showing that he is an anti-Sorosist in the hope that this will influence Trump's decision-making regarding his issues.

But some things must be said as they are and openly. Not that we have anything to do with Soros, as both Xorxhi and Alexi are two evils who have taken this country hostage for 30 years, but Saliu is also partly to blame. This is because once upon a time he considered Soros a friend.

Establishment of the Soros Foundation

The Open Society Foundation for Albania was founded in 1994 in our country. In this year the president was Sali Berisha, who enabled its creation. But when he came to power, in 2008 he supported this foundation again. In 1998, George Soros created the Besa Foundation, which would operate as a legal entity, as a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization, in accordance with Albanian legislation. The Besa Foundation began its activity in May 1999 with VKM, No. 207, dated 28.04.1999, when the Urban Microcredit project was transferred to the BESA Foundation with the SOROS Foundation as its founder.

In 1999, the Albanian government transferred 309,864,911.50 ALL (over 3 million dollars) of assets of the Albanian Development Fund (a state institution) to the Besa Foundation. In the years 2004-2006, the Besa Foundation received a loan from the Spanish Agency for Cooperation and Cooperation in the amount of 7 million Euros. These funds are mediated by the Albanian Government. But in the conditions of the consolidation of the institution's activity, the Board of the BESA Fund and the Founder (OSF-A) in June 2008 decided to approve the plan of transformation of the BESA fund from NGO status to a new legal status as a joint stock company.

The executive board of Soros decided that in addition to the Besa Foundation, the following should also be created: the "ABC" Foundation (Albanian Besa Capital) and the "Besa" Fund sh.a. The Albanian government, represented in this case by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ridvan Bode, agreed that all the obligations and rights that the Besa Foundation had with the Albanian government should be transferred to the Besa Fund sh.a. So at this time the name of Ridvan Bodes came up. This state recognition of the transfer of the obligations of a foundation to a business is an unprecedented legal and financial case in the history of Albanian finance. So there is no way for a foundation to transfer capital and liabilities to a business. Meanwhile, debts of millions of dollars were paid from the Albanians' taxes.

Meanwhile, support was also given by the former governor of the Bank of Albania, Ardian Fullani, who allowed the Besa Fund to operate for a long time without a license.

Berisha's letter

A letter was also published that Berisha, at that time as President of the Republic, sent to Soros and considered him a friend.

Dear Mr. Soros. I am writing to you first of all to thank you for the much-needed support of the Open Society Foundation to the democratic movement in Albania, the 120 tons of paper are an example of the help that your foundation and the American democratic Albanian press at the time and with the right intention. There is no doubt that this assistance was the key to the great democratic victory in our last election. 45 years of isolation of the state over the economy have left Albania in an urgent need for complete economic, political and social reform of the country. There is no doubt that your support for an Advisory Group to the Albanian government will play an important role in the planning and implementation of these reforms. Both the Albanian government and I personally hope to have a fruitful relationship with your foundation. So I invite you with great pleasure to visit Albania as my personal friend. I hope to see you soon ," Berisha's letter reads.
