US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ukrainian presidential adviser Andrii Yermak spoke to the media in Geneva after their first meeting in Geneva, where the 28-point plan was discussed.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said today's meetings were the most productive of the peace process so far. He added that the Washington team was making "some changes" to the peace plan, apparently based on Ukrainian suggestions, but that any plan required Trump's approval.
Rubio stressed that there is still work to be done and that they may have a further update later on the situation.
" We have a very good work product that has already been built on a foundation of input from all the relevant parties involved here, and we have now been able to go through some of these points, point by point. And I think we have made good progress. Our teams have now gone to their rooms while we are working on some of the suggestions that were offered to us, so we are working, making some changes in the hope of further narrowing the differences and getting closer to something that both Ukraine and the United States are very happy with ," Rubio told the media.

Then Andrii Yermak, Zelensky's right-hand man, who represents Ukraine at this meeting in Geneva, took the floor. He echoed Rubio's words that today's meeting was "very productive" and that the Ukrainian people want peace.
“We have made very good progress and are moving forward towards a just and lasting peace. The Ukrainian people deserve and want this peace more than ever before ,” he said.
Yermak stressed that he thanks his European friends, the US and Trump as well, as the latter complained about a lack of gratitude earlier.
