Melania Trump has decorated this year's White House Christmas tree.
Its decoration also pays homage to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the founding of the United States of America.
Due to the East Wing's demolition this year, the official White House Christmas tree, always on display in the Blue Room, also honors families who have lost a member during military service.

The tree was usually located in the East Wing and was the first thing visitors saw as they walked through those doors, but the building and the covered walkway that connected it to the White House were demolished in October as part of the administration's plan to build a grand ballroom.
The East Hall is decorated in patriotic red, white and blue colors and with national symbols, including golden eagles atop the trees, to honor the upcoming America250 celebration. The trees are also adorned with stars, roses and oak leaves.

"Christmas is a time to celebrate what makes the United States unique and that, while every home has its own traditions, shared values unite Americans. In every community, we are lifted up by simple acts of kindness that reflect the enduring American spirit of generosity, patriotism and gratitude. These moments remind us that the heart of America is strong and that home is where our hearts are ," the White House said in a statement.
According to the White House, the First Lady chose every detail of the decorations, while planning for the holidays begins months in advance.

Public tours of the White House were suspended several months ago due to work on the Ballroom, but will resume today (12/2), with a limited tour of the State Room. The State Room includes the East Room, Green Room, Blue Room and Red Room, the State Dining Room, the Central Room and the Great Room.
Tens of thousands of visitors are visiting the White House for tours, receptions and events this month. Visitors will now enter through the North Porch door on Pennsylvania Avenue, using a new hallway and entrance.
A small "army" of volunteers and other helpers decorated the Executive Residence using 75 wreaths, 51 Christmas trees, over 60 feet of wreaths, over 2,000 strings of lights, more than 7,500 yards of ribbon, more than 2,800 gold stars, 10,000 butterflies and 54 kg of sugar cookies.

Most of the work was done after the Trump family left for their Palm Beach, Florida, residence on Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving. They returned to the White House on Sunday.
The Green Room is used for family entertainment, with portraits of the first and current presidents, George Washington and Donald Trump respectively, each built with more than 6,000 LEGO puzzle pieces.
Thousands of butterflies decorate the Red Room and its tree, in a celebration dedicated to young people and as a tribute to Melania Trump's "Encouraging the Future" initiative, which is part of the child-focused "Be Best" initiative to support people who have grown up in foster care.
First Lady wreaths with red ribbons adorn the exterior windows of the White House.
During the first Trump administration, Melania was secretly recorded in 2018 complaining about, among other things, traditional First Lady duties, such as preparing for Christmas. The recordings were made by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former friend and senior adviser who later wrote a book about their relationship.
